The Pioneer Commercial Auto Insurance Policy meets the specific needs of your business operation. Business property coverage combined with commercial auto coverage will provide your business with a complete protection package.

When it comes to commercial auto insurance, the ERIE has a variety of coverages to make sure you stay protected.

  • Owned Autos - provides protection for claims arising out of ownership
  • Hired Autos - provides protection for a vehicle you or your employee rent or borrow for business
  • Non-Owned Autos - provides protection for partners, employees, or members of households using the vehicle for your business or personal affairs.
  • Temporary Substitute Autos – provides protection when your owned autos is disabled and you’re using another vehicle temporarily.
  • Newly Acquired Autos – provides protection for new or additional autos acquired during the policy period
  • Light Trailers – provides protection for trailers designed for highway use weighing 3.500 pounds or less pulled by a truck or private passenger auto

Xtra Protection

The Pioneer Commercial Auto Policy protects you with additional features at no additional cost. Xtra Protection Features include:

  • Coverage up to $100 per day for loss of earnings due to assisting the ERIE in an accident investigation or defense claim
  • Coverage up to $50 per day for lawyersÂ’ fees if you are arrested as result of an accident
  • Bail bond coverage up to $500 bail bond required because of an accident or traffic violation involving an auto we insure
  • All expenses covered to return your stolen auto (if comprehensive coverage is purchased)
  • Transportation expenses up to $20 per day not to exceed $900 (45 days) for the period of time your auto is not available as a result of a comprehensive loss
  • All expenses necessary to replace a deployed air bag
  • Sound equipment up to $1,000 when permanently installed in other than the dash or console
Additional protection also includes reimbursement for coverage for an owned private passenger auto used in Mexico and other foreign countries (not applicable in NY). When you visit a foreign country where your auto insurance coverage doesnÂ’t apply, you will be reimbursed for up to 30 days of premium on a similar type auto policy (not available if you are employed, stationed in the armed services, or attending school in a foreign country).

Optional Coverages

Your business is unique and so are your insurance needs. For additional coverage, consider the following optional coverages:

  • Transportation expenses (collision) - covers transportation costs if your auto becomes disabled due to a collision.
  • Transportation expenses (comprehensive) - covers transportation costs if your auto becomes disabled due to a comprehensive loss.
  • Road Service - covers reasonable towing and labor costs for a disabled auto or light truck (under 10,000 lbs. GVW).
  • Loss of use (income protection) - covers loss of income either by business interruption loss caused by a comprehensive or collision loss to your vehicle.
  • Auto, death, specific injury and total disability income benefits - provides coverages if named person dies or becomes disabled as a result of an auto accident (total disability income benefits are not available in DC, NY or PA).
  • Physical damage insurance for hired, rented, borrowed autos - provides comprehensive and/or collision coverages for hired or borrowed auto used in your business.
  • Trailer interchange agreement – provides coverage for your legal liability assumed under a Trailer Interchange Agreement.
